'Navigator' wins 'sought-after' maritime award
Emma was an honoured guest at the 27th SeaTrade Awards gala diner at London's Guildhall earlier this week. She was proud and thrilled to see 'The Navigator' magazine, which she has edited since its inception in 2012 for The Nautical Institute, win the sought-after 'Investors in People' category award. Under Emma's editorship, the publication has gone from an unknown magazine to a leading trade title in just under four years, now boasting staggering circulation figures of 110,000 copies distributed world-wide.

Emma enjoyed an early Christmas present in mid December, when the book she spent the autumn writing and editing - the official biography of suspension bridge pioneer, Dr William Brown - was launched at the Institute of Civil Engineers in London in the presence of internationally-leading engineers, academics, politicians and journalists. Emma was chosen to write the book ahead of engineering experts, thanks to her sympathetic style of writing and close attention to detail. Dr Brown enjoyed a 50-year career designing some of the world's most recognised suspension bridges, including the Severn, Forth Road, Bosphorus and the proposed Messina Strait crossing.
